Chocolat card

No, I didn’t misspell the word chocolate in the title (as a card-carrying chocoholic, I’d have to give up my card!) – the stamp image is from a French Art Nouveau chocolate label (Club Scrap’s Chocolate Shoppe kit, Feb. 2005). I put this together as a thank you card, but it could be used for just about anything or anytime where chocolate is appropriate… oh wait, that would be pretty much all the time! *laugh* Continue reading

Time heals all wounds card

This card was done for a friend who had surgery. Start with teal cardstock, fold it in half so that it makes a 4.25″ x 5.5″ card. Trim the blue/gold swirled paper to leave 1/8″ border of the teal cardstock around it and attach it to the teal card using vellum tape in the corners. Stamp the Star Map image four times: once on the blue cardstock using Peacock and embossing with Ultra Fine Detail silver powder; once on vellum also with Peacock and then heat set; twice on white cardstock (highlighting the clock only) – once in Brown, once in Sapphire Silk. Trim the blue cardstock to leave 1/8″ edge around the embossed frame, and then trim the vellum image so that it fits inside the frame of the blue cardstock. Use small pieces of vellum tape to afix the vellum to the blue cardstock, and then press the whole thing into place on the card front using glue so that it would go through the swirled paper and create a solid bond.

Ink the photo corners with Gold and emboss with clear powder, set aside. Stamp or write the sentiment (this was one hand-written) on a piece of the blue cardstock. Slip the photo corners on the blue cardstock strip, apply a little dot of glue to the back of each corner and press it into place on the swirled paper.”

Detail of the clock: Cut out the clock face from the Sapphire Silk stamped layer and glue it to the Brown clock, leaving the brown clock in place on the white cardstock. Mix Perfect Pearls (in Gold) with a little water and paint it on the pendulum. Swipe clear embossing ink over the whole clock (except the pendulum which will still be damp) and then cover it with UTEE and heat it. Apply a second layer of UTEE, heat and  set aside to cool. Once it has cooled completely, cut out the finished clock and glue it into place on the vellum.

All cardstock is Club Scrap, as is the stamp (Star Map stamp – Time & Space kit Dec 2004). The ink’s are Clearsnap’s Colorbox Pigment ink in the colors listed. The embossing powders and Perfect Pearls are Ranger. The blue and gold swirled paper is Black Ink decorative paper. Glue is Tombow Mono Aqua liquid glue. Vellum tape is 3M Scotch Vellum Tape.
